Royal Quays Marina hits the ground running in 2016

Building work starts this week on a major improvement to the facilities at Royal Quays Marina.
Local contractors Meldrum Construction have been awarded the contract to build a new building to house a 2000 sq ft cafe/restaurant as well as enhanced showers and toilets for marina berth holders. The work is expected to be completed in August this year. The building will be situated on the peninsula adjacent to the existing marina control building and will command superb views over the marina basin.
Royal Quays Marina Manager Matt Simms said 'The new building will allow us to significantly improve the service that we offer to our customers and will add to Royal Quays Marina's reputation as the premier boating facility in the North East of England. There are a number of established restaurant operators interested in running the cafe/restaurant and we expect to be able to make an announcement on this shortly'.
