Open Day at Rhu Marina

Open Day at Rhu Marina

Rhu Marina opened its doors to the public on Saturday 20th June with Helensburgh RNLI celebrating 50 years of maintaining a lifeboat station at Rhu. The lifeboat crew and committee sold tea and cakes in the marquee which raised £460 for the RNLI.
You & Sea Powerboating ran trips in their RIB for the public and the much anticipated Scrapheap Race was won by Senior Berthing Master Eddy Young's boat. Eddy put his engineering expertise to good effect meaning that his entry was fully rigged with a bulb keel resulting in a comfortable victory. Marina Manager Suzanne Bell's boat unfortunately sank!
