1986 Audi S1 Rally Car wows the fans at Rhu Marina Charity Event

A 1986 Audi S1 Rally Car proved the showstopper at an Audi Quattro charity event at Rhu Marina held in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity. This car was used in Group B rallying and weighed only 1100 kg generating 550 brake horsepower resulting in a 0-60 time of only 3 seconds! Only 20 of these cars were ever built and this is the only example of the model in the UK.
The event attracted a great turn out of Audi Quattros from an early 1982 left hand UR Quattro sent up specially from Audi UK Headquarters to fresh out of the showroom new RS3 and Q7 models provided by Glasgow Audi.
Rhu Marina Senior Berthing Master and self confessed Audi Quattro nut, Eddy Young, said 'We are delighted to have raised £1155 in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity and with the response I have received to this event, I am already planning the next Audi Quattro get together for this great cause'.
