Rib Run fills the lock at Portishead Quays Marina

Over 20 RIB's filled the lock at Portishead Quays Marina for a Rib Run to Penarth in aid of Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA).

The event raised a fantastic £2000 for SARA which is an independent Marine and Land based rescue organisation covering the Severn Estuary and the tidal Severn, Wye and Usk rivers. SARA was founded in 1973 and operates 22 operational inshore lifeboats and 20 vehicles from 4 stations and is manned by 200 volunteers. As well as its marine capability, SARA also carries out land searches and its station at Beachley is a recognised Mountain Rescue Post. SARA is a Registered Charity and it relies on donations for its funding.
