Portishead Lifeboat Station receives £506,000 windfall from mystery donor

Long term supporters of the Portishead Lifeboat have been given a fantastic boost by the news of a £506,000 anonymous donation to the RNLI to cover the building cost of the new ramp, track and slipway at the new Portishead Lifeboat Station which is in the course of construction.

Portishead Lifeboat Trust Chairman, Mike Roberts, said 'This donation of £506,000 towards an essential feature at our new lifeboat station is needed for the continuation of our mission to protect and save lives in the Severn Estuary, Bristol Channel and River Avon'.

The new Portishead Lifeboat Station is adjacent to the entrance of Portishead Quays Marina and is expected to become operational in April 2015.
