Penarth Quays Marina’s Open Day was a great success and showcased the fun that can be had on and around the water.
Centre stage was 'The Matthew', a replica of the caravel ship sailed by John Cabot from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497. She attracted a lot of interest especially for the Sunday Morning Service held on board.
On the water the paddle board and kayaking sessions were fully booked all day and Penarth Sea Cadets took guests out rowing. On shore the mini boat show at BJ Marine and the mechanical displays in Wigmore Wright Team Marine kept young and old entertained. The BBQ was busy all day and along with Pier 64 and Compass Coffee there was plenty of refreshment on offer. The local craft stalls were busy and the RNLI Sea Safety Team gave out a lot of advice. The afternoon ended with the crowd relaxing to the smooth vibes of Tony Morley and his band. All in all, everyone had a lot of fun in the sun.
