Thirteen boats sign up for Penarth Cruise in Company

An excellent turnout of 13 boats with 31 crew left Penarth Quays Marina on the Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend for a pleasant sail to Portishead as part of Penarth's Active Marina Programme. This was followed by a drinks party at Portishead Quays Marina's Control Building where crews were able to compare notes on the trip over.
Sunday morning was breezy but with the wind coming off the land, boats were able to make their way up the River Avon and through the lock to moor up in Bristol's scenic Floating Harbour. After a day's exploring in Bristol there was an enjoyable evening meal at The Hole in the Wall close to historic Queen Square.
Monday saw better weather than expected for the trip home with most of the fleet making it back to Penarth in the early afternoon. Many thanks to Lynda and Malcolm at Blueline Sea Training for organising and co-ordinating the cruise and other Active Marina events will be taking place thoughout the summer.
