The one that didn't get away!

The one that didn't get away!

This year's Fishing Competition at Bangor Marina was won by Charlie McCluney who caught a 9lb 5oz Pollock on 23rd September. Throughout the summer Charlie had caught various sizes of Pollock and his persistence was finally rewarded with the winning entry.
Charlie is the youngest winner of the competition to date and was presented with a £50 fishing tackle voucher together with a tub of sweets to help him celebrate.
This year the fishing competition at Bangor took on a different twist in that we were looking for the heaviest Pollock. In the Marine Conservation Society's opinion, Pollock are a good fish to eat and they come from sustainable sources.
