Tier 2 Oil Pollution Exercise held at Bangor

Tier 2 Oil Pollution Exercise held at Bangor

On 25th May Bangor Marina and Harbour  held an oil pollution recovery exercise.
Every 3 years, Bangor runs a day long boom deployment exercise with our Tier 2 Contractor, Braemar Howells, which is a requirement under the Port Marine Safety Code as Quay Marinas Ltd is responsible for the Harbour as well as the Marina. Less serious Tier 1 pollution incidents are dealt with using equipment held on site.
The exercise ensures that out team is familiar using oil recovery equipment and that the oil response plan meets the requirements of The International Convention of Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation.
