Notice of racing programme for Royal Quays Marina Spring Series

The annual Spring Series at Royal Quays Marina is set to attract a competitive fleet of racing yachts and sports boats from across the region. Racing gets underway on Sunday 22 April, and is followed by three further race days on Sunday 29 April, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May. Two races will be held each day to make an 8 race series.

Originally devised by Royal Quays Marina Manager, Matt Simms as a warm up event prior to main season, the series has now become one of the main fixtures on the north east racing calendar. Matt comments "The aim of the series is to have exciting short sharp inshore courses with a quick turn round between races. This suits the new sports boat fleet which has grown on the coast over recent years and now dominates the local racing scene"

The racing is organized by Tynemouth Sailing Club and because of their input the event has gained a reputation for having high quality courses and race management. Support and sponsorship is given by Quay Marinas.
