Chairman's run ashore
To make up for the lack of a boat this summer, Quay Marinas Chairman, Andrew Yates, has been pounding (or should it be plodding) the streets of Bristol to train for the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday, 9th September.
Andrew is raising money for St Christopher's School (Bristol) www.st-christophers.bristol.sch.uk a residential school in Westbury Park for children and young people aged 5 to 19 who have severe or profound learning difficulties. Andrew is a trustee of St Christopher's which has 50 pupils but which employs approximately 350 full time or part time staff. Andrew said:
"St Christopher's is a fantastic charitable organisation which receives very little publicity but performs a hugely important role in helping pupils gain a sense of their own worth and value as individuals in society."
Quay Marinas will top up the money that Andrew raises for St Christopher's. To make a donation, either fill in a sponsorship form at your marina or go on to the St Christopher's website, click on 'registered charity' on the home page and follow the instructions.
Your support would be very much appreciated.
