Quay Marinas launches photo competition

Quay Marinas have launched the 2007 Bangor Marina Maritime Photographic Competition.

The competition is open to everyone in the community and all images entered must have a maritime theme or connection showing North Down's heritage as a maritime tourist destination. Images must have been captured in the North Down Borough area within the 12 month period ending 17th September 2007, when the competition closes.

There are two categories, Open and Student and entries may be colour or black and white. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category.

An exhibition of winning entries will take place in the Marine Court Hotel with the kind permission of the Management.

Marina Manager Andrew Jaggers said: "This competition offers everyone in the community with access to a camera the opportunity to interpret North Down's maritime heritage and the summer's activities in their own way. As far as we are aware, this is the first competition of its kind in this area, so we are quite excited about the prospects for a good response in all the categories."
