Quay Marinas Limited wins Lagan contract

Quay Marinas Limited has recently been awarded a 3 year contract from 1st April 2007 to provide Operational Services at the Lagan Weir and on the River Lagan.

The contract was awarded in February by the Department for Social Development who from 1st April will be responsible for the management of the Weir and River Lagan within the Laganside area.

Quay Marinas Limited has been involved in the provision of services to Laganside Corporation since 1998 and the Company successfully operates 5 marina sites at Bangor, Conwy, North Shields, Penarth and Portishead. Four of these sites are large impounded basins operated through modern sector lock gates.

Quay Marinas' local Director, Andrew Jaggers said: "The Company is delighted to have been successful in competing for this contract. We have significant experience in the management of tidal waters within port limits and our team at the Weir offers over 35 years of local experience on the River. We now look forward to being of continued service to DSD through this contract and to assisting in the development of further facilities on the River."
