Marmalade relaunched at Portishead

In August, Portishead customers, Chris Kent and his partner, Maureen Sykes, proudly watched as their former naval pinnace, Marmalade, took to the water at Portishead Quays Marina.

The couple have carried out an exhaustive refit of the 53 foot 22.5 ton vessel which took over 2 years. Originally built in 1958 by the Fairlie Yacht Slip Company in Scotland, Marmalade (or D58 as she was then known) operated as a Harbour Launch in the Port Auxiliary Service until she was sold out of service in 1986.

An elated Chris said 'seeing Marmalade in the water again after such a long time ashore, made all that hard work worthwhile!'
