Lifeboat Station at Penarth Quays Marina

Penarth Quays Marina became a temporary home for both Penarth's RNLI inshore lifeboats from the 18th to the 24th June. The usual lifeboat station on the seafront was having works undertaken to the floor and the lifeboats operated from B leg at the Marina. The Marina Office became a temporary crew room and store. The operational response time for the lifeboats increased slightly due to having to lock through the Barrage to get to sea, but an operational capability was maintained despite the ongoing works to the boathouse. Quay Marinas Ltd has historically chosen the RNLI as its charity and was pleased to offer assistance in this instance.
