Quay Marinas take over Bangor Marina and Harbour.

On 2nd April 2008, North Down Borough Council formally handed over Bangor Marina and Harbour to Quay Marinas Limited. A small ceremony took place at the marina, followed by a lunch for some 30 distinguished guests at the Town Hall. The Mayor, Councillor Dr.Stephen Farry, MLA and Andrew Yates the Chairman of Quay Marinas Limited both commented in their speeches on the long and successful association over 20 years between all the parties involved, and their vision for the future of Bangor Marina and Harbour.

Andrew Jaggers, a Director of Quay Marinas Limited and Manager at Bangor, made a presentation to the Mayor of a chart of the North Down Borough area within Belfast Lough, dated 1841.

Trevor Polley, Chief Executive of North Down Borough Council, thanked all those who had worked hard at creating and finalising the new management and operating agreement which grants Quay Marinas Limited exclusive rights on the Harbour Estate for a 15 year period from 1st April 2008.
