The 30 tonne boat hoist at Royal Quays was purchased second hand when the marina was opened in 1998 and has given excellent service over the last 14 years. However now that the hoist has clocked up 30 years of operation, we think it's time for a change.
We have ordered a new 40 tonne machine complete with a top mounted jib crane for mast and engine lifting and remote control which will allow operation by the ground crew. As well as giving increased capacity which will allow us to lift larger vessels, the new hoist will improve our operational efficiency.
Having considered boat hoists built in Holland, USA and Italy, we have proudly chosen to support British manufacturing by placing an order with Wise Handling of Bradford who also built our existing machine with which we have been so pleased.
